British Assessment Bureau Limited (BAB) is an independent certification body for the provision of Product Certification services against PAS 2030<\/a> \/ MCS<\/a>. We operate in compliance with ISO 17065, PAS 2031 and MCS and our procedures are administered in a non-discriminatory manner.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n In order to achieve certification, a fully operational installation specification which meets the requirements of PAS 2030 \/ MCS must be established including controlled and up to date documents and evidence of vocational competence.<\/p>\r\n Following a satisfactory initial evaluation (desktop assessment and on-site inspection), verification of the evaluation report, and completion of any corrective actions, we shall issue a certificate. The certificate is issued subject to continued satisfactory performance being achieved through surveillance evaluations, which shall be carried out nominally once a year. In cases of large and\/or complex operations additional evaluations may be required.<\/p>\r\n If a major nonconformity is found during the initial evaluation process a recommendation for certification shall not be made until either corrective action has been verified by a site visit or appropriate documentary evidence of corrective action has been submitted and approved by BAB.<\/p>\r\n If a major nonconformity is found during surveillance evaluation the client shall be required to carry out corrective action within an agreed timescale, which shall normally be no greater than eight weeks following the evaluation<\/p>\r\n There are three grades of nonconformity, namely \u00a0category 1, major and minor. Certification shall not be granted or continued until all major nonconformities have been corrected and the corrective actions verified.<\/p>\r\n A failure that significantly reduces the ability of the measure to achieve its intended energy savings or carbon emission reductions. This might involve faulty insulation, a poorly installed boiler, or an issue that prevents the measure from operating efficiently. A category 1 failure requires a 24 hour resolution.<\/p>\r\n The absence or failure to implement and maintain one or more requirements of PAS 2030 \/ MCS or a situation which would, based on objective evidence, raise significant doubt as to the capability of the organisation to comply with the standard. A major nonconformity will be raised if the organisation were to breach a legal requirement.<\/p>\r\n A nonconformity that, based on the judgment and experience of the auditor, is not likely to result in the failure of the management system or reduce its ability to assure controlled processes or products, that could be corrected with minimal organisational, operational, or technical change and within a reasonable time frame, (as opposed to a major nonconformity where the organisation has not addressed or adequately addressed the criterion).<\/p>\r\n In the event of a dispute or as a result of an unsuccessful application, you have the right of appeal.
