Job Purpose
The Accounts Assistant will play a key role within the finance function of Amtivo Italy and Southern Europe, part of the broader Amtivo Group. This is a pivotal opportunity to join a growing, private equity-backed business with ambitious goals for both organic and acquisitional growth. The postholder will support regional financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and contribute to the development of finance systems and controls across multiple group entities.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders within the team and wider business.
Transactional Processing and Financial Support
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for Amtivo Italy and Southern Europe
- Maintain accurate bank postings and reconciliations
- Process purchase invoices, maintain credit control procedures, and assist with payment runs and cash receipt processing
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing routines
- Prepare and submit VAT (IVA) returns and other statutory filings in compliance with local regulations
Finance Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Support the integration of newly acquired entities into finance systems
- Collaborate to streamline finance processes and enhance internal controls
- Provide support to the finance team—including covering the role during absences
- Participate in system implementations and upgrades as required
Regulatory Compliance & Local Requirements
- Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations across Italy and applicable Southern European jurisdictions
- Stay updated on local statutory obligations such as VAT (IVA), F24 tax filings, and Intrastat returns
- Ensure accurate reporting under Italian GAAP and other local accounting standards
- Liaise with local tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities as needed
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate with internal departments, remote teams, customers, and suppliers
- Support liaison with auditors and local financial authorities
- Manage the finance inbox and respond to queries in a timely, professional manner
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration
- Proficiency in NetSuite (or similar systems) and Microsoft Excel
- Essential: Knowledge of local accounting regulations and tax compliance (IVA, F24, Intrastat)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organisational accuracy
- Capable of constructively challenging processes and identifying improvements
- Collaborative yet able to work independently
