- Location: UK-based with international remit
- Contract type: Permanent
- Reports to: CEO
When you’re scaling at pace, buying brilliantly, and integrating relentlessly, there’s one thing that determines whether the value creation plan becomes reality: your ability to bring people with you. This newly created Chief Integration & Transformation Officer (CITO) role sits right at that fulcrum.
It’s a rare opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing, PE-backed TIC group operating across the UK, US, Ireland, and Italy – and to do so with the full backing of the CEO, the Board, and a sponsor who understands the power of disciplined integration.
This is not a back-office programme role. It’s a people-first, enterprise-wide leadership mandate with real influence, real complexity, and real impact.
Why This Role Matters
The group is in a classic buy-and-build phase – but with the added nuance of regulated, people-intensive services where accreditation, culture, and client trust are non-negotiable.
Your job is to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
To turn acquisitions into a unified, high-performing group.
To deliver synergies without losing the soul of the businesses joining us.
To ensure growth never outruns our ability to integrate well.
What You’ll Lead
- Integration, end-to-end: You’ll own the full integration lifecycle across all markets – from diligence to full operational merger. You’ll refine and embed a group playbook that respects the realities of TIC: accreditation continuity, workforce transition, client retention, and cultural alignment. And you’ll report progress and value delivery with clarity and confidence to the Board and sponsor.
- People leadership & change adoption: You’ll be the visible, credible, energising leader who helps thousands of people navigate change with confidence. You’ll build a high-performing transformation office, design organisational structures that work, manage TUPE with empathy and rigour, and create a culture that feels cohesive without erasing local identity.
- Operational transformation: You’ll drive multi-year programmes that standardise operating models, rationalise duplicated functions, and create clarity of accountability across the group – always balancing efficiency with the realities of regulated service delivery.
- Technology & AI partnership: You’ll partner closely with the CTPO to ensure integration and technology roadmaps reinforce each other. You’ll bring a commercially grounded view of where AI and automation can genuinely enhance auditor productivity and client value – and champion adoption across a people-heavy workforce.
- Regulatory & accreditation oversight: You’ll provide executive sponsorship to ensure nothing in the integration journey compromises accreditation integrity. You won’t own the technical agenda – but you’ll know enough to ask the right questions, set the right guardrails, and represent the group credibly with external bodies.
- Stakeholder leadership: You’ll be a trusted voice with the PE sponsor, a steady hand at the Board table, and a collaborative partner across the ExCo – particularly with the CFO, CTPO, and People leadership.
What You Bring
- A proven track record of leading complex buy-and-build integration in PE-backed or listed environments
- Deep experience in people- and client-centric services businesses
- A history of leading large-scale change that actually sticks
- Comfort operating in regulated environments
- Strong commercial judgement and investor fluency
- Real-world experience of TUPE, organisational redesign, and workforce transition
- Emotional intelligence that’s as strong as your operational discipline
Bonus points for: TIC or professional services experience, multi-jurisdiction leadership, technology transformation exposure, and familiarity with quality or certification environments.
Who Will This Suit?
A senior leader who thrives in ambiguity, reads the room instinctively, and knows that integration is as much about psychology as process. Someone who can hold the strategic picture while diving into operational detail when it matters. A collaborator, not a territory-builder. A leader who understands that culture is an asset – and that transformation only works when people believe in it.
