The Role
We are seeking a conscientious, enthusiastic, and ambitious Accounts Assistant to play a vital role in supporting the Finance Team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Management Accountant, Financial Controller, and Head of Finance, providing valuable experience across all areas of transactional and management finance.
The successful candidate will take ownership of transactional processing across all Group entities and support the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. This is a key role within the team, with opportunities to contribute to business growth and the ongoing development of finance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the production of monthly financial reporting requirements
- Cash management across multiple entities
- Ownership of AR bank transactional bookkeeping
- Manage the Sales Ledger, invoicing, payment runs, and cash receipts
- Perform bank postings and reconciliations
- Manage the Finance AR inbox and respond to customer/supplier queries
- Support the Head of Finance and Financial Controller in improving processes and controls across the Group
- Assist with the integration of acquired businesses and the finance system implementation
- Provide cover for the Management Accountant when required
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks

Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in bookkeeping/accounting and office administration
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Strong IT and process skills, with proficiency in Excel and Sage
- Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to challenge existing processes and suggest improvements
- Strong time-management and organisational skills
- A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ideally studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
