Help Shape a More Sustainable Future With Amtivo Group

At Amtivo Group, we believe governance and compliance should empower, not restrict. We support organisations around the world to reach their full potential – through certification, inspection, and training services that drive trust, accountability, and growth.

We’re proud to work with national governments, global enterprises, and local businesses across 40+ countries. And we’re just getting started.

We’re now looking for an Environmental Compliance Officer to join our dynamic Environmental Projects team on a fixed-term basis to support the delivery of the national Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).

Your Role: Making an Impact, One Inspection at a Time

You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with the DRS – playing a vital role in field inspections, investigations, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. This is a highly operational, field-based role with national reach, and will suit someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and purpose-led work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conducting Inspections: Visit premises across the UK to assess compliance with DRS regulations – checking products, reviewing documentation, and verifying deposits.
  • Supporting Investigations: Assist in identifying and evidencing cases of suspected non-compliance or fraud, and support enforcement actions where necessary.
  • Engaging Stakeholders: Liaise with retailers, operators, and the public to promote awareness and drive voluntary compliance.
  • Maintaining Accurate Records: Keep detailed, organised records of inspections and findings, and contribute to comprehensive reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promoting Best Practice: Provide guidance and education to ensure DRS regulations are understood and adopted effectively.

What You’ll Bring

  • Full UK driving licence (Category B minimum) – this is a nationwide role.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A degree in Environmental Science (or related field) is a plus, but not essential.

Key Competencies

  • Time management and autonomy
  • Investigative and analytical thinking
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Teamwork and adaptability
  • Strong reporting and data management skills

What’s in it for You?

  • Competitive salary
  • 24 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Flexible, hybrid working where possible
  • A supportive and inclusive culture
  • Pension scheme (with death in service and income protection benefits)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee referral scheme
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme
  • Opportunity to be part of something that truly makes a difference
