Job Purpose

Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive qualified lead generation and revenue growth through paid digital channels. The role works closely with the New Business Squad and the Head / Director of Revenue Marketing to optimise campaign performance and maximise pipeline generation from paid media activity.

The role collaborates with teams across the wider business to ensure paid acquisition campaigns align with commercial priorities, product positioning and territory growth strategies. It owns the management and optimisation of paid media channels and agency relationships, ensuring investment decisions are data-led and performance-focused while continually improving lead quality, conversion and return on marketing investment.

Accountabilities

Acquisition strategy, planning & optimisation

  • Develop, execute and continuously optimise paid media programmes (e.g., paid search, paid social, retargeting and other paid placements) aligned to New Business acquisition priorities.
  • Build campaign strategies that balance direct response outcomes with brand and user experience considerations, in line with agreed objectives.
  • Evaluate budget allocation and campaign set-up across accounts, monitoring spends versus budget and making recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain test-and-learn cadence (creative, landing page, audience and bidding tests), documenting hypotheses, outcomes and next steps.

Paid search delivery (New Business primary; Existing Business limited)

  • Own day-to-day direction of paid search activity, including keyword strategy, ad group structure, ad copy direction and ongoing optimisation guidance to agencies.
  • Support limited paid search initiatives for Existing Business where agreed, ensuring scope and priorities are aligned with squad needs and wider acquisition governance.
  • Work with Content and Website/CRO teams to ensure landing pages and messaging support for conversion and user intent.

Agency management & delivery quality

  • Manage the relationship with third-party paid media agencies and contributors, ensuring clear briefs, delivery standards, timelines, and performance focus.
  • Provide execution-based recommendations and challenge agency output where needed to protect budget efficiency and lead quality.
  • Ensure tracking, naming conventions, and reporting inputs are consistent and auditable across accounts.

Paid media agency relationship & delivery ownership

  • Hold direct, hands-on responsibility for the strategy, execution and optimisation of selected paid media accounts, including campaign build, optimisation and testing across multiple geographies.
  • For accounts delivered in partnership with a paid media agency, own the strategic direction and ensure activity aligns to commercial priorities, market context and agreed acquisition objectives.
  • Ensure a cohesive, joined-up paid media strategy across all accounts (in-house and agency-managed), balancing local market needs with group-level best practice.
  • Set clear expectations, briefs and success criteria for agency-managed activity, ensuring recommendations and execution make commercial sense for the business.
  • Challenge and guide agency activity using performance data, test learnings and market insight, ensuring decisions are evidence-led rather than default best practice.
  • Ensure consistent standards for tracking, naming conventions, QA and reporting across all paid media accounts, regardless of delivery model.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience managing paid search activity (hands-on or via agency) in a performance marketing environment.
  • Experience managing paid social and remarketing/retargeting campaigns, and understanding how channels work together across the funnel.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Ads; familiarity with Meta and LinkedIn Ads Manager environments.
  • Ability to interpret analytics (e.g., GA4 and HubSpot reporting) and translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience working with A/B testing methodologies and landing page optimisation in partnership with CRO/website teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project planning and prioritisation skills; comfortable coordinating delivery through agencies and cross-functional partners.
