Job Title: Payroll Manager

Reporting to the Financial Controller with a dotted line to Group People Director, the purpose of this role will be to manage and deliver accurate, timely payroll operations for Amtivo Group, ensuring compliance with legislation, benefits schemes, and internal policies. This role also includes working closely with the Finance team to ensure payroll data integrity, accurate financial journalling, and support with broader payroll-related financial matters such as bonus accruals.
Accountabilities:
Planning
- Plan and manage the full payroll cycle across the UK ensuring accuracy and timeliness that meet the needs of the business and its key stakeholders.
- Plan, manage and calculate bonus accruals and other payroll related entries working closely with the finance team to ensure consistency of information.
- Plan and manage the implementation of the new payroll software solution working closely with external experts.
- Plan for upcoming legislation changes and any impact they may have on the business and its teams. Communicate any changes in advance as appropriate.
Delivering
- Successfully deliver on time and in budget, the implementation of the new payroll software solution, collaborating with external experts and the People, Tech and Finance teams to minimise the risk of error and ensure a smooth transition.
- Deliver on time, accurate submission of all payrolls.
- Deliver a payroll service to all internal stakeholders that meets the needs of the business key targets and objectives.
- Provide efficient and effective responses to employee queries on pay, deductions and benefits in line with company SLA’s.
- Apply statutory deductions benefits and pensions in line with legislation and company policy.
- Collaborate with the People team to ensure accuracy of employee data.
- Ensure accuracy of commission submissions against the relevant scheme metrics and targets, liaising with the relevant team leads as required.
Reporting
- Prepare and reconcile payroll journals in collaboration with Finance ensuring consistency of data being reported across each of the payrolls.
- Provide payroll data and reporting to support financial accounting and forecasting.
- Prepare payroll reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Compliance
- Stay up to date with legislation and regulatory changes, implement updates accordingly communicating changes to stakeholders as required.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in line with audit and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal/ external auditors during financial/ payroll audits.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Ideally CIPP qualified or equivalent.
- A proven track record in managing payroll, preferably within a global business.
- Experience in financial reconciliation and payroll journalling.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Excel.
