Lead the way in environmental compliance and waste enforcement
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Waste Enforcement Team Leader to join our growing Waste Enforcement Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental enforcement professional with leadership experience who is passionate about protecting the environment, ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering high-quality services to clients.
In this role, you will lead a team responsible for inspections, investigations and enforcement activities relating to waste management and environmental compliance. You will play a key role in driving operational performance, supporting team development and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Waste Enforcement Team Leader, you will:
- Lead and coordinate a team delivering waste inspections, investigations, audits and enforcement activities.
- Plan and prioritise workloads to ensure resources are effectively allocated and service targets are achieved.
- Oversee enforcement cases, ensuring evidence gathering, reporting and recommendations are robust, accurate and legally compliant.
- Review reports, case files and investigation outcomes to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, regulatory bodies and key stakeholders.
- Provide operational updates, performance reporting and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, high performance and professional excellence.
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A degree in Environmental Sciences or a related discipline (Level 8 qualification or above), and/or significant relevant investigative experience.
- Proven experience within waste enforcement, environmental compliance, regulatory enforcement or a similar investigative environment.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating a team.
- Strong knowledge of waste legislation, inspection processes, evidence gathering and enforcement procedures.
- Excellent report writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to make sound decisions and provide proportionate enforcement recommendations.
- A full, clean Category B driving licence.
