About Us:

We are a dynamic and growing organisation seeking a motivated Credit Controller to join our finance team. If you are organised, detail-oriented, and eager to develop your skills in credit control, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Role Overview:

As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the Group’s credit control function, ensuring timely payments from clients, and supporting efforts to reduce bad debts. You will collaborate with our Senior Credit Controller to oversee outstanding accounts, communicate with clients, and resolve payment issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debt Collection: Assist in managing overdue accounts by sending reminder emails and following up on unpaid invoices.
  • Customer Communication: Contact customers via phone, email, or letter to resolve payment issues and provide information on outstanding invoices.
  • Account Reconciliation: Help reconcile customer accounts, ensuring accurate recording of payments and investigating discrepancies.
  • Data Entry & Record-Keeping: Maintain precise records of customer payments, outstanding balances, and credit limits in our accounting system.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of reports on aged debt and cash flow for management.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and customer service teams to resolve issues and streamline financial operations.
  • Credit Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to company credit policies and assist in enhancing existing processes for greater efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer disputes tactfully.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive financial information.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a finance-related role.
  • A competent understanding of financial terms and practices.

  • £24,000-£26,000 base salary depending on experience
