2. Use of the UK Food Certification mark and scheme owner logos
As a requirement of ISO 17065, the use of the UK Food Certification mark is strictly governed. Use of our mark requires approval from UK Food Certification prior to use, and must be formally requested. To request a copy of our Client Request Form, please contact the office.
Companies that achieve certification and have no exclusions from their scope are qualified to use the BRCGS logo on site stationery and other marketing materials. Information and conditions relating to the use of the BRCGS logo is available on the BRCGS Directory.
3. Complaints and appeals
UK Food Certification have a fully documented Complaints and Appeals procedure, which is available upon request, and includes the following details and timeframes:
Any complaints or appeals need to be made in writing (letter or email), which should include any supporting documentation or evidence.
Any appeal against a non-conformance raised during an audit must be made within 7 calendar days of the last day of the audit.
Any appeal against a certificate decision must be made within 7 calendar days of receipt of the certificate decision.
For appeals against a non-conformance, UK Food Certification will respond with a final decision within 7 calendar days of receipt, where possible.
For appeals against a certificate decision, UK Food Certification will respond with a final decision within 30 calendar days or receipt, where possible.
Where possible, complaints will be finalised within 30 calendar days of receipt.
Formal notice of the outcome will be presented once the final decision has been made.
4. Product recalls
Where stipulated by the certification Standard, clients are required to notify their current certification body of a product recall within the timeframes dictated by the scheme owner.
Notification of any product recalls should be made by email to [email protected], and include the following information:
Product(s) recalled.
Date of recall.
Details of any action taken.
5. Certificate authenticity
BRCGS certificates should regularly be challenged to verify validity and authenticity as part of supplier approval processes. The easiest way to challenge a certificate is to use theBRCGS Directory
For all other schemes or if there are any discrepancies between the BRCGS directory and the BRCGS certificate, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist.
6. Accreditation
We are accredited by UKAS (Certificate No 9900 and Certificate No 8289) to provide certification for the following schemes: BRCGS Food Safety; BRCGS Storage & Distribution; BRCGS Agents & Brokers; BRCGS Packaging Materials. In addition to these, we also provide certification to several other recognised non-accredited schemes, where the scheme owner and/stakeholders do not require accreditation: BRCGS START!, BRCGS Plant Based; BRCGS Gluten Free; AOECS (Association of European Coeliac Societies).
