A few simple steps are all that’s required. Simply begin by requesting a quote from our team.

Our UKAS Certification Transfer Process

If you are considering moving your UKAS-accredited certificate from one certification body to another, we can work with you make the transfer process as smooth as possible.

  • Step 1 – Provide your supporting documentation

In order to successfully transfer your certification, we will need copies of your latest audit report and certificate (to be uploaded). We will also need you to complete the Site Structure form in order for us to contact your current certification body. This form is available to download after you have submitted the required documentation.

  • Step 2 – We create a quote for you

If you are transferring a UKAS certificate, we will provide you with a quote for your upcoming surveillance audit. In order to proceed with the transfer, you will need to accept this. If you are not transferring a UKAS certificate, we will need to initiate a new certification process, as we cannot confirm the standards of non-UKAS certifications.

  • Step 3 – We issue your transfer certificate

Once the quote has been accepted, your latest audit report and certificate are then examined by our Compliance Department. During this review, we ensure that all documentation meets our rigorous standards and aligns with UKAS requirements. If successful, a Amtivo certificate will then be issued.

  • Step 4 – We conduct a surveillance assessment

As your next assessment approaches, we will reach out to arrange a convenient date for the surveillance audit. During this time, we will also verify that you are adequately preparing and offer guidance on any necessary documentation or updates to your processes. Our team is committed to supporting you through every step, ensuring you have the resources and information needed for a successful audit.

  • Step 5 – We’ll maintain ongoing contact

ISO certification’s stellar reputation is built on its requirements for ongoing assessments and continual improvement. To ensure your certification remains up-to-date, we’ll maintain regular contact with you and schedule annual assessments. Our proactive approach helps identify potential areas for enhancement, guaranteeing that your organisation not only meets but exceeds industry standards.

  • Promote your successful certification transfer

Your successful certification transfer can be a useful tool in your marketing toolkit. To do this, we suggest sharing your certification status on your website and marketing materials, including your certification number for customer verification.

UKAS vs. non-UKAS Certification Transfers

We offer free transfers for your UKAS-certified ISO to Amtivo. To start the process, you must accept our quote for your next surveillance audit. Once accepted, we will contact your current certification body to obtain the necessary transfer documentation related to mandatory requirements. This ensures a smooth transition and maintains your certification’s integrity under UKAS standards.

For those with non-UKAS accredited ISO certificates, the transfer process is slightly different. We cannot verify the validity or level of audit scrutiny of non-accredited certifications, nor ensure they meet the high standards set by UKAS or Amtivo. As a result, you will need to start a new ISO certification process.

We would be happy to guide you through this process and demonstrate how working with Amtivo ensures a seamless certification experience.

ISO Certification Transfer FAQs

Why is UKAS-accreditation so important?

Although not a legal requirement, many companies do require UKAS-accredited certification.

This is because their clients often request this type of certification. Depending on the sector you operate it, you could run the risk of losing out when bidding for contracts in the private and public sectors because of non-accreditation and an unrecognisable certificate.

We are confident that a UKAS-accredited certificate will be recognised by every organisation.

What is the difference between the terms ‘Accreditation’ and ‘Certification’?

Accreditation

Accreditation is when an “accreditation authority” officially recognises that a conformity assessment body is technically and organisationally capable of providing a specific service according to set standards and regulations. This recognition helps identify a qualified evaluator, making it easier to choose a reliable laboratory, inspection or certification body.

Certification

Certification is the process where a third party provides written assurance that a product, process, system or individual meets specified requirements.

Why transfer your ISO certification?

It’s not a well-known fact that you can transfer an ISO certification from one body to another. There can be a number of reasons why you may decide to do this:

  • Little value for money

  • Business re-tendering

  • Low-quality customer service and technical support

  • Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Bad experience with the certification body or assessor

  • The need for a closer working relationship

How long does It take to transfer an ISO certificate?

At Amtivo, we aim to have your certification transfer completed as quickly as possible.

In order for us to do this, you will need to sign the quote acceptance request as soon as you can so we are able to contact your previous certification body. Our time allowance for this is around 5 working days.

Can I transfer over if my certification has expired?

Expired certifications are not eligible for transfer. However, if you’d like to recertify, we can help you get back on track by supporting you with a new application.

Please contact us.

What documentation do you need to provide?

You will need to provide your latest audit report and accredited certificate to successfully transfer.

Why choose Amtivo?

As a UKAS-accredited certification body, all our ISO schemes are recognized by UKAS, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality and service. This commitment has made us one of the most respected and rapidly expanding certification bodies in the UK. We take pride not only in our clients’ success, but also in providing assurance that the ISO certificates we issue are credible and impartial, benefiting both you and your customers.

I have a non-accredited certificate – can I transfer to a UKAS-acccredited certification?

If you hold a non-accredited certificate, you could consider switching to a UKAS-accredited certificate when evaluating your certification body. Regardless of the route you choose, the management system you implement remains the same.

However, UKAS certification carries more weight and reflects a higher level of scrutiny in your audit processes. We are happy to discuss your UKAS ISO certification needs.

How do the assessments work?

We are guided by essential mandatory requirements. Our first step is to evaluate your industry and business activities to determine how much interaction is needed with physical assets, personnel and processes. Industries with complex infrastructure or sensitive equipment may need an on-site audit to comprehensively assess compliance and operational effectiveness.

What if my scope has changed?

Certification details must remain unchanged and your current certification body must be UKAS-accredited in order to undergo a successful transfer.

If the scope has changed, we can discuss the next steps with you.

How much does certification transfer cost?

At Amtivo, we don’t believe in hidden costs. We provide a full certification quotation or a surveillance quotation that is valid for 30 days.

If you have no changes, these costs are the only your organisation will pay during certification. Simply contact us for a free quote.
