Get in touch for a free quote from one of our experienced team members to get your AS9100, AS9110, or AS9120 certification journey underway. We’ll assess your needs and provide a tailored quote, outline the process and explain the plan for your initial assessment.
We can also signpost resources that you may find useful on your journey to becoming certified.
We’ll work with you to identify what you need to meet the AS9100, AS9110, or AS9120 requirements. Our auditor will conduct an initial review of your management system, (called a Stage 1 Audit), to see if you’re ready for the certification audit.
We’ll review your quality documents during this audit and observe how you use resources. We’ll also check whether you review your system regularly and confirm the proper scope for your management system.
If we find anything missing, we’ll mark these as ‘Areas of Concern’, which you’ll need to fix before moving to the next step (Stage 2 Audit).
During the Stage 2 Audit, our auditor evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of your QMS against the requirements of your chosen aerospace certification.
We carefully examine your processes to verify that your management system is correctly implemented. If something doesn’t meet the requirements, our auditor will call it a ‘nonconformity.’
You’ll need to fix these issues before we can grant certification. Once your fixes are accepted, the auditor can recommend you for certification.
Once our compliance team confirms that you meet the criteria, you’ll receive your globally recognized aerospace certificate.
After you’re certified, we will conduct audits at least once a year to ensure you still meet the standard’s requirements.

Achieving certification can be a strategic decision for any business working in the aerospace industry. These certifications demonstrate that your company meets the strict quality standards required in these specific industries. This boosts your business’s credibility and makes you a more attractive partner for companies looking for reliable suppliers.
Typically, AS9100 certification takes 6-12 months from initial preparation to final certification. The timeline depends on your organization’s size, existing quality systems, resource availability, and implementation approach.
Many organizations spend four to six months developing documentation and implementing processes, followed by internal audits and a two-stage certification audit by a certification body.
The route to AS9100 certification can be quicker if your organization has an ISO 9001-certified QMS in place.

AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 certifications last for three years. However, during this time, your business will undergo annual surveillance audits to check your continued compliance with the standard’s requirements. After three years, a recertification audit is required to renew your certification.
The cost of your aerospace certification can vary based on several factors. Larger companies and businesses with complex operations often face higher costs due to more extensive audits and resources needed.
If you have fewer employees or an existing QMS, costs could be lower. If you choose to hire external consultants, this could add to your expenses. Location impacts costs through varying auditor fees and travel expenses, while industry-specific requirements can also raise costs.
Lastly, choosing a certification body and any extra services like training or consulting will influence the final cost.
AS9100 certification is issued by accredited certification bodies (registrars) approved by national accreditation bodies and the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). To maintain their accreditation status, these registrars must meet strict requirements and undergo regular assessments. Amtivo is an accredited certification body.
You can verify a company’s AS9100 certification status through the IAQG Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database, which the IAQG maintains. This official industry database contains certification information for all AS9100-certified organizations worldwide.
There are a few differences between ISO 9001 and AS9100.
AS 9100 is based on ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification for quality, but with aerospace-specific industry additions. The aerospace industry designs the AS9100 / AS9110 / AS9120 certifications for the aerospace industry. Key additions of AS9100 / AS9110 / AS9120 to ISO 9001 include design controls and risk management.
ISO 9001 is a more general approach to quality management that is relevant across all industries, whereas AS9100 / AS9110 / AS9120 is specific to quality control in the aerospace industry.
AS9100 and EN 9100 are published under different titles in North America and Europe, but there is no real difference between them. The requirements for each standard are the same.
