Issue & acceptance of ISO proposal of transfer The sales team will issue a proposal to transfer for your certification. When you are happy to proceed, the transfer will typically take between 3-4 weeks.

Why is accreditation so important?

Although not a legal requirement, many companies do require accredited certification.

This is because their clients often request this type of certification. Depending on the sector you operate in, you could run the risk of losing out when bidding for contracts in the private and public sectors because of non-accreditation and an unrecognizable certificate.

What is the difference between the terms ‘Accreditation’ and ‘Certification’?

Accreditation

Accreditation is when an “accreditation authority” officially recognizes that a conformity assessment body is technically and organizationally capable of providing a specific service according to set standards and regulations. This recognition helps identify a qualified evaluator, making it easier to choose a reliable laboratory, inspection or certification body.

Certification

Certification is the process where a third party provides written assurance that a product, process, system or individual meets specified requirements.

Why transfer your ISO certification?

It’s not a well-known fact that you can transfer an ISO certification from one body to another. There can be a number of reasons why you may decide to do this:

  • Poor value for the cost
  • Re-tendering or supplier changes
  • Low-quality customer service or technical support
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • A poor experience with the certification body or auditor
  • The need for a closer, more responsive working relationship
How long does it take to transfer an ISO certificate?

At Amtivo, we aim to complete your certification transfer as quickly as possible.

Once you sign the quote acceptance, we will contact your current certification body to request the required documentation. That certification body has up to 16 days to respond. As soon as we receive this information, we can move forward with completing your transfer.

Can I transfer over if my certification has expired?

Expired certifications are not eligible for transfer. However, if you’d like to recertify, we can help you get back on track by supporting you with a new application.

You will need to provide your latest audit report and accredited certificate to successfully transfer.

How do the assessments work?

At Amtivo, we believe in transparent pricing with no hidden fees. We provide a full certification, surveillance, or recertification quotation, valid for 90 days.

If there are no changes to your certification, these will be the only costs your organization pays. Simply contact us for a free quote.

What if my scope has changed?

Certification details must remain unchanged and your current certification body must be UKAS-accredited in order to undergo a successful transfer.

If the scope has changed, we can discuss the next steps with you.

How much does certification transfer cost?

At Amtivo, we don’t believe in hidden costs. We provide a full certification quotation or a surveillance quotation that is valid for 30 days.

If you have no changes, these costs are the only your organisation will pay during certification. Simply contact us for a free quote.

When is the best time to transfer certification bodies?

A company can transfer their certificate at any time throughout the three-year life cycle of the ISO certification. However, we recommend contacting us at least three months before your certification expires.

What are the requirements to transfer an ISO certification to Amtivo?

The minimum requirement is that your existing certification is accredited by a recognized accreditation body (such as ANAB, UKAS, or INAB). Additional documentation, including previous audit reports, may also be required. Our Sales Team will be happy to review the requirements with you and guide you through the process.

Will transferring certification cause disruption to the day-to-day running of the business?

Amtivo will deliver a seamless transfer process with little to no disruption.
