Whether you are familiar with PAS 2030 or new to the standard this guide is designed to help you through the assessment process to achieve PAS 2030 certification. It covers the process step by step, including sections on how to complete your application for registration, how to prepare for your assessment, and what happens once you are certified.
What is PAS 2030?
PAS 2030 is a standard with the primary objective to provide a robust, uniformly applicable specification that will assist installers to demonstrate that their installation of energy efficiency improvement measures have met specification and customer requirements. PAS 2030 is a specification and guidance that firms need to follow in order to install energy efficiency measures with a retrofit approach to dwellings specifically relating to undertaking Green Deal and ECO installations.
It covers three primary types of installations:
- Building Fabric Measures (BFM) which include insulation, glazing, and doors
- Building Services Mechanical (BSM) which include boilers and heating systems
- Building Services Electrical (BSE) which includes lighting and lighting controls.
Who is PAS 2030 suitable for?
Installers of energy efficiency measures (EEM) in existing dwellings (domestic homes) i.e. “RetroFit dwellings”. This standard does not cover the design of the EEM, this is now covered in PAS 2035.
Examples of the types of work covered by PAS 2030 include:
- Heating: including Condensing Boilers (GasLPGOil) Fired (Domestic and Non-Domestic), Heating Under-Floor Heating, Flue Gas Recovery, Heating Systems Insulation (pipes and cylinders), Warm Air Units.
- Insulation: including Cavity Walls, Lofts, Pitched Roof, Flat Roof, External Wall, Internal Wall, Hybrid Wall, Floor and Draught Proofing.
- Electrical: including Lighting Controls, Light Fittings, Storage
