If you are currently engaged in the process of implementing an Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) with the aim of obtaining ISO 45001 certification, this checklist serves as a valuable tool to evaluate your adherence and pinpoint areas that may need further attention.
Get in touch for a free quote from one of our experienced team members to get your ISO 45001 certification journey underway. We’ll assess your needs and provide a tailored quote, outline the process and explain the plan for your initial audit.
We can also signpost resources that you may find useful on your journey to becoming certified.
We’ll work with you to identify what you need to meet the ISO 45001 requirements. Our auditor will then carry out an initial review of your management system (called a Stage 1 Audit) to see if you’re ready for the certification audit.
During this audit , we will review your quality documents and observe how you use resources. We’ll also check whether you review your system regularly and confirm the right scope for your management system.
If we find anything missing, our auditor mark these as ‘Areas of Concern’, which you’ll need to fix before moving to the next step (Stage 2 Audit).
During the Stage 2 Audit, our auditor evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of your OHSMS against ISO 45001 requirements.
We carefully examine your processes to verify that your management system is correctly implemented. If something doesn’t meet the requirements, our auditor will report it as a ‘nonconformity.’
You’ll need to fix these ‘nonconformity’ issues before we can grant certification. Once your fixes are accepted, the auditor can recommend you for certification.
Once our compliance team confirms that you meet the criteria, you’ll receive your globally recognized ISO 45001 certificate.
After you’re certified, we will conduct audits at least once a year to check that you still meet the standard’s requirements.
