Following the publication of BS 10119:2026, Amtivo is introducing a transition programme for organisations currently certified by Amtivo to COP 119.
From 1st September 2026, existing Amtivo COP 119 clients can begin transitioning to BS 10119:2026.
If your organisation would like to transition, you must notify Amtivo in writing as early as possible.
COP 119 certification will be withdrawn at the end of the transition window on 30th September 2027.
BS 10119:2026 Transition at a Glance
- From 1st September 2026, existing Amtivo COP 119 clients can begin transitioning to BS 10119:2026.
- If you would like to transition, you must notify Amtivo in writing.
- Once notified, Amtivo will review and confirm the transition activity required, audit duration and appropriate auditor competence.
- Wherever practicable, transition activity will be carried out alongside an existing scheduled surveillance, recertification or other audit.
- The transition audit will assess your organisation against the requirements of BS 10119:2026.
- Existing COP 119 certification through Amtivo may continue until 30th September 2027, subject to successful completion of required audits and continued conformity.
- From 1st September 2026, new applicants will be quoted and assessed against BS 10119:2026.
- BS 10119:2026 certification provided by Amtivo under this programme is available in the United Kingdom only and is unaccredited.
What Is Changing?
BS 10119:2026 has been published as the British Standard for the provision of labour to the security and events sectors.
As a result, Amtivo is introducing a programme to transition existing Amtivo COP 119 clients to BS 10119:2026.
The transition period begins on 1st September 2026. Existing Amtivo clients do not need to complete their transition on this date. COP 119 certification will remain valid until 30th September 2027, provided required audits are successfully completed and continued conformity is maintained.
After 30th September 2027, COP 119 certification via Amtivo will be withdrawn.
What Do Existing Amtivo COP 119 Clients Need to Do?
If your organisation would like to transition to BS 10119:2026, you must notify Amtivo in writing.
We recommend contacting us as early as possible and sufficiently ahead of your next scheduled audit. This allows us to review the transition activity required, including audit duration and appropriate auditor arrangements.

What Does This Mean for New Applicants?
From the 1st of September 2026, COP 119 will no longer be offered to new applicants via Amtivo.
New applications within the applicable scope will instead be quoted and assessed against BS 10119:2026.
Following completion of the required assessment and a positive certification decision, successful applicants will receive unaccredited BS 10119:2026 certification.
