Gareth Parker is Head of Operational Compliance at Amtivo. With a background spanning engineering, testing, inspection and certification, he brings extensive technical and regulatory expertise to the governance and delivery of accredited certification schemes. Gareth holds Lead Auditor qualifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001, and has developed specialist expertise in emerging standards, including ISO/IEC 42001 for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.
Gareth has over 15 years’ experience working across technical and leadership roles in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) sector. His experience includes electrical product certification, electromagnetic compatibility testing, fire detection and life safety systems, and hazardous environments. Earlier in his career, he also worked within organisations operating under EU Notified Body frameworks, gaining experience of regulated conformity assessment in product certification environments. He has also supported international operations, including contributing to the establishment of testing laboratories in North America.
Gareth has experience working within accredited conformity assessment environments operating in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17025, supporting the governance and effective operation of certification and testing activities. At Amtivo, he works closely with scheme managers, governance teams and national accreditation bodies to support the effective operation of certification programmes and maintain alignment with accreditation, regulatory and industry requirements across multiple schemes and jurisdictions.
Outside of work, Gareth is actively involved in his local community. He coaches youth football in Wrexham and serves as Treasurer for the Wirral, North East Wales and the Marches Area of Round Table, supporting charitable initiatives including projects with Nightingale House Hospice.
